Good Day!

I was 6 years old when I first found my way into my mothers makeup bag. I pulled out a round palette with all kinds of colorful eyeshadow. Reds and purples, greens and blues...beautiful shades that I splotched on the front of my hands. I remember looking into the mirror, pulling out lipstick after lipstick, layering the rouge on my lips. My mom burst in with "What are you doing??? What happened to your mouth? Are you okay?!" I cowered back and looked up at her, "I want to be beautiful."
Of course this was not a good excuse for tampering with my mom's beauty supply...she put it away and I wouldn't know the joys of make up again for 9 years. Now at 26, my make up addiction has grown to encompass a very large percentage of my bedroom. With the boom of the Internet, I'm able to find things that I wouldn't have otherwise heard about in my small town in southern Ohio. My collection is in the making...
A little about me. I consider myself a late bloomer when it comes to fashion. I've always thought that I dressed "okay"...but never felt like I was fully utilizing the opportunity to express myself. My wardrobe has changed drastically in the last year. After purchasing a few key elements I was able to purge all kinds of things and up-cycle or donate the excess. It felt good to have control over what I was wearing. I went from scrambling to find clothes in the morning before work or school to putting together pieces and creating looks that I felt best exemplified my own personal style.
I've created this blog for several reasons. First and foremost I want my own writing place; a little slice of the Internet where I can write freely about my thoughts on various subjects. The emphasis will be on things I find beautiful...places where beauty is not readily seen...perhaps where it needs to be REVEALED! So if anyone out there is reading this...Welcome!
